Crafting Process
We prefer to use 100% Tibetan wool as it contributes to the local economy of the Himalayan region and, quite simply, provides higher quality product. We strive to use 100% organic and sustainable vegetable dyes whenever possible, thus minimizing the impact on the fragile ecosystem of Kathmandu valley. The use of these natural dyes encourages a cultural heritage, which has been in place for generations and reaffirms the connection people have with the natural world.
Our rugs are made from 100% Tibetan wool of the highest quality available, which is carded, spun and dyed by hand. Gaju Fine Custom Rugs are hand knotted using the sennah loop method which is employed no where else in the world, producing rugs that are exquisite in style with impeccable quality. The hand made character of our products allow wonderful depth and richness in the rug pile, which is achieved through subtle variation in color and texture.
